The top five companies accounted for 18% of patenting activity
Analysis of patenting activity by companies shows that Johnson & Johnson filed the most 3D printing patents within the medical industry in Q1 2024. The company filed 22 3D printing-related patents in the quarter, compared with 22 in the previous quarter. It was followed by Align Technology with 22 3D printing patent filings, Zimmer Biomet (11 filings), and United Therapeutics (9 filings) in Q1 2024.
