April 2021 has seen an increase of 15.96% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 6.75% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2021, registering an increase of 1.71% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 58.76% in April 2021, a 62.86% growth over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 14.43% in April 2021, marking an 180% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.37% in April 2021, a 9.09% growth from March 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 108.82% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s medical industry during April 2021 over previous month.
Stryker posted 42 IT jobs in April 2021 and registered a an increase of 133.33% over the previous month, followed by Danaher with 15 jobs and an 114.29% growth. Hill Rom with 5 IT jobs and SmileDirectClub with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 44.44% drop, respectively, while Hologic recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during April 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s medical industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 67.01% share in April 2021, a 103.13% rise over March 2021. Costa Rica featured next with an 18.56% share, down 28% over the previous month. Panama recorded a 4.12% share, a growth of 100% compared with March 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.04%, up by 40.43% from March 2021. Mid Level positions with a 17.53% share, a growth of 142.86% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.28% share, down 25% over March 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 5.15%, recording a month-on-month growth of 400%.
