The UK’s medical industry registered a 4.0% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring a decreased by 10.1% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.15% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.72% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.66% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s medical industry in August 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 45.8% in August 2021, registering a 34.78% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 19.08% share, a decrease of 28.57% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 14.5%, registering a 137.5% rise from July 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.4%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 11.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s medical industry during August 2021 over July 2021.

Danaher posted 16 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 36% over the previous month, followed by The Cooper Companies with 9 jobs and a flat growth. Randox Laboratories with 9 IT jobs and Medtronic with 8 jobs, recorded a 350% flat growth and a 42.86% decrease, respectively, while ResMed recorded an increase of 100% with 8 job postings during August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.34%, down by 29.58% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.98% share, registered a decline of 15% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.69% share, flat growth over July 2021.
