What is Business Expansion?
Business Expansion is one of our largest categories and looks at the core functions of business operations within the sector.
This consists of any projects that have expanded the company’s footprint in the sector, including: contract wins; launching in new territories; launching new product lines; the acquisition and expansion of facilities and real estate; acquisition of new machinery or other assets; improved logistics; partnerships; and significant staff increases.
Themes
One clear trend during the research period is the marked increase in investment in telemedicine platforms, undoubtedly the result of COVID restrictions, and something also evident in our Hospital Management rankings.
Another key theme is the development of various, mostly COVID specific, diagnostic tools, with the pandemic also leading to a scaling up of production of said tools.
The third clear trend is automation and this research period has been dominated by the development of medical procedures using robotic and AI solutions as well as the introduction of various cancer specific diagnostic solutions.
