Asia-Pacific witnessed a 13.5% drop in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

September 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.3% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for an 11.85% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 2.15% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 65.5% in September 2022, a 16.67% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 9.94% in September 2022, marking a 37.04% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 8.58% in September 2022, a 2.22% drop from August 2022.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 7.6% in September 2022, a flat growth over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 4.62% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s medical industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Carl Zeiss posted 81 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 1.25% over the previous month, followed by Thermo Fisher Scientific with 65 jobs and a 20.37% growth. Koninklijke Philips with 48 IT jobs and Danaher with 42 jobs, recorded a 39.24% drop and a 13.51% rise, respectively, while GE Healthcare recorded a 260% increase with 36 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s medical industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 67.06% share in September 2022, a 17.41% increase over August 2022. China featured next with a 10.33% share, down 41.76% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 7.21% share, a growth of 85% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.6%, down by 0.63% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.12% share, registered a growth of 19.64% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.28% share, down 3.08% over August 2022.
