Asia-Pacific witnessed a 2.8% drop in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
September 2021 has seen an increase of 4.74% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 14.5% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 0.93% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 72.35% in September 2021, a 17.45% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 8.97% in September 2021, marking a 14.08% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 6.18% in September 2021, a 20.75% drop from August 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 5.74% in September 2021, a 34.48% rise over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 5.01% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s medical industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Danaher posted 111 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 20.65% over the previous month, followed by GE Healthcare with 83 jobs and a 30.25% drop. Thermo Fisher Scientific with 49 IT jobs and Medtronic with 45 jobs, recorded a 6.52% rise and a 6.25% drop, respectively, while Becton Dickinson and recorded a flat growth with 34 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s medical industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 56.18% share in September 2021, a 23.45% decrease over August 2021. China featured next with a 15.74% share, down 21.9% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 10.88% share, a growth of 32.14% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.91%, down by 25.86% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 32.5% share, registered a decline of 1.34% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.44% share, up 2.9% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.15%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
