Asia-Pacific witnessed an 8.9% drop in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

April 2022 has seen a decrease of 5.44% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 16.49% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering a decrease of 0.49% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 74.57% in April 2022, a 19.09% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 10.71% in April 2022, marking a 24.44% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 8.22% in April 2022, a 16.22% rise from March 2022.

Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 4.4% in April 2022, a 32.35% decline over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 9.96% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s medical industry during April 2022 over previous month.

Carl Zeiss posted 73 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 563.64% over the previous month, followed by GE Healthcare with 63 jobs and a 59.35% drop. Danaher with 63 IT jobs and Alcon with 42 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while athenahealth recorded a 59.09% increase with 35 job postings during April 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s medical industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 66.73% share in April 2022, a 9.82% decrease over March 2022. China featured next with a 9.75% share, down 52.78% over the previous month. Australia recorded an 8.6% share, a growth of 9.76% compared with March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.66%, down by 15.9% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.87% share, registered a decline of 26.7% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.9% share, down 6.56% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.57%, recording a month-on-month growth of 50%.
