Asia-Pacific witnessed a 1.7% rise in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in January 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
January 2022 has seen a decrease of 0.17% in the overall hiring activity when compared with December 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 15.75% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in January 2022, registering an increase of 0.46% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in January 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 73.94% in January 2022, a 25.75% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 8.05% in January 2022, marking a 9.26% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 6.14% in January 2022, a 28.57% rise from December 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 5.59% in January 2022, a 5.13% rise over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 19.69% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s medical industry during January 2022 over previous month.
GE Healthcare posted 130 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered an increase of 14.04% over the previous month, followed by Thermo Fisher Scientific with 104 jobs and a 67.74% growth. Medtronic with 62 IT jobs and Danaher with 47 jobs, recorded a 77.14% rise and a 26.56% drop, respectively, while Demant recorded an 8% decline with 46 job postings during January 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s medical industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 64.12% share in January 2022, a 23.68% increase over December 2022. China featured next with a 12.82% share, up 40.3% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 6.28% share, a growth of 70.37% compared with December 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.85%, up by 22.87% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.01% share, registered a growth of 19.28% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.87% share, up 45% over December 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.27%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
