Canada’s medical industry registered a flat growth in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.21% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 14.38% share in February 2022, recording a decrease of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Canada’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.1% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry in February 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 66.67% in February 2022, registering a 17.65% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 10.48% share, a flat growth over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.52%, registering an 11.11% rise from January 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 7.62%, up 100% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 18.97% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

Sonova posted 26 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a drop of 31.58% over the previous month, followed by Intelerad Medical Systems with 19 jobs and a 90% growth. Danaher with 11 IT jobs and AlayaCare with 8 jobs, recorded a 266.67% growth and a 60% flat growth, respectively, while em-tec recorded an increase of 150% with 5 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60%, down by 24.1% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.86% share, registered an increase of 118.18% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 17.14% share, up 28.57% over January 2022.
