China’s medical industry registered a 9.3% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 8.71% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.8% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 1.49% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.11% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s medical industry in September 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 71.7% in September 2022, registering a 22.45% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 9.43% share, a decrease of 81.48% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 7.55%, registering a 33.33% rise from August 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.66%, down 25% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 34% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s medical industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Thermo Fisher Scientific posted 12 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 50% over the previous month, followed by Danaher with 9 jobs and an 80% growth. Koninklijke Philips with 6 IT jobs and Baxter International with 3 jobs, recorded an 83.78% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while bioMerieux recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.36%, down by 44.59% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.21% share, registered a decline of 36.36% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.43% share, down 16.67% over August 2022.
