Europe’s medical industry IT hiring activity rises 3.4% in November 2021

Europe witnessed a 3.4% rise in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

November 2021 has seen an increase of 9.17% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 10.52% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering a decrease of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 66.27% in November 2021, a 25.69% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 11.93% in November 2021, marking a 7.89% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 8.94% in November 2021, a 5.41% drop from October 2021.

Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 6.56% in November 2021, a 14.44% decline over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 36.34% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s medical industry during November 2021 over previous month.

Sonova posted 216 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered an increase of 58.82% over the previous month, followed by Demant with 138 jobs and a 33.98% growth. Sartorius with 74 IT jobs and Arjo with 68 jobs, recorded a 23.33% rise and a 47.83% rise, respectively, while medi GmbHKG recorded a 3.08% decline with 63 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s medical industry

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 27% share in November 2021, an 8.93% increase over October 2021. Switzerland featured next with a 19.85% share, up 56.38% over the previous month. Poland recorded a 13.46% share, a growth of 27.42% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.42%, up by 16.49% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.4% share, registered a growth of 6.96% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.01% share, up 1.44% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.17%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
