Malaysia’s medical industry registered a 34.9% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.32% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 14.52% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 3.06% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Malaysia’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Malaysia’s medical industry in June 2022.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 52.78% in June 2022, registering a 280% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 33.33% share, an increase of 500% over the previous month.

3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 8.33%, registering a 40% decline from May 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 2.78%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Malaysia’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 328.57% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Malaysia’s medical industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Bruker posted 13 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 550% over the previous month, followed by DexCom with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Abbott Laboratories with 5 IT jobs and Danaher with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Boston Scientific recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 86.11%, up by 181.82% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.89% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
