April 2022 has seen a decrease of 6.61% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 9.24% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering an increase of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 63.39% in April 2022, an 11.46% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 9.78% in April 2022, marking a 9.13% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 7.69% in April 2022, a 22.75% drop from March 2022.

Top five medical companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 28.85% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s medical industry during April 2022 over previous month.
Sonova posted 142 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 14.52% over the previous month, followed by Abbott Laboratories with 125 jobs and a 54.32% growth. Becton Dickinson and with 124 IT jobs and Intelerad Medical Systems with 103 jobs, recorded a 27.91% drop and a 3333.33% rise, respectively, while Danaher recorded a 22.97% increase with 91 job postings during April 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s medical industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 94.11% share in April 2022, a 14.28% decrease over March 2022. Canada featured next with a 4.53% share, up 65.63% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.37% share, a drop of 8.57% compared with March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.91%, down by 10.97% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.34% share, registered a decline of 19.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.33% share, down 5.3% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.43%, recording a month-on-month decline of 47.37%.
