Singapore’s medical industry registered a 1.5% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 6.7% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.18% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 0.81% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Singapore’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.73% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s medical industry in November 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 45.45% in November 2021, registering a 25% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 22.73% share, an increase of 150% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 13.64%, registering a 200% rise from October 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 11.36%, up 400% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Singapore’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 126.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s medical industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Thermo Fisher Scientific posted 17 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 142.86% over the previous month, followed by Becton Dickinson and with 8 jobs and a 300% growth. Illumina with 4 IT jobs and Danaher with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 200% growth, respectively, while Abbott Laboratories recorded an increase of 100% with 2 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.27%, up by 35.29% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 29.55% share, registered an increase of 116.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 18.18% share, up 166.67% over October 2021.
