South & Central America witnessed a 16.3% rise in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

October 2021 has seen a decrease of 4.95% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.16% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering a decrease of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 65.91% in October 2021, a 7.41% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 11.36% in October 2021, marking a 66.67% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.09% in October 2021, a 33.33% rise from September 2021.

Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 6.82% in October 2021, a flat growth over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 212.5% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s medical industry during October 2021 over previous month.

Hill Rom posted 6 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Abbott Laboratories with 5 jobs and a 400% growth. Sartorius with 5 IT jobs and Arthrex with 5 jobs, recorded a 25% rise and a 66.67% rise, respectively, while Teladoc Health recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during October 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s medical industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 36.36% share in October 2021, a 14.29% increase over September 2021. Costa Rica featured next with a 13.64% share, down 33.33% over the previous month. Panama recorded an 11.36% share, a growth of 66.67% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.64%, down by 3.45% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 20.45% share, registered a growth of 200% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 15.91% share, up 16.67% over September 2021.
