Switzerland’s medical industry IT recruitment activity drops 3.5% in February 2022

Switzerland’s medical industry registered a 3.5% drop in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.43% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 18.86% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.52% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Switzerland’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 102.83% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s medical industry in February 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 83.49% in February 2022, registering a 4.84% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed an 8.02% share, a decrease of 10.53% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 7.08%, registering a 7.14% rise from January 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 3.3%, down 36.36% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Switzerland’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 3.77% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s medical industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

Sonova posted 185 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a drop of 11.06% over the previous month, followed by Ypsomed with 12 jobs and an 1100% growth. VirtaMed with 3 IT jobs and Tecan Group with 2 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 100% growth, respectively, while Danaher recorded an increase of 100% with 2 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.4%, down by 14.2% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.04% share, registered an increase of 9.68% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 15.57% share, up 3.13% over January 2022.
