The UK’s medical industry registered a 23.3% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 13.76% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.58% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.15% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s medical industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 48.31% in June 2022, registering a 1.72% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 17.8% share, a decrease of 12.5% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.41%, registering a 76.71% decline from May 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 13.56%, up 14.29% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 34.34% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s medical industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Intelerad Medical Systems posted 24 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a drop of 61.9% over the previous month, followed by Arjo with 22 jobs and a flat growth. Thermo Fisher Scientific with 8 IT jobs and Randox Laboratories with 7 jobs, recorded a 300% growth and a 36.36% decrease, respectively, while Abbott Laboratories recorded an increase of 300% with 4 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.03%, down by 34.62% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.25% share, registered a decline of 28% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.71% share, down 31.82% over May 2022.
