The UK’s medical industry registered a 6.9% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 15.57% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.32% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 2.22% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.79% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s medical industry in November 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.9% in November 2021, registering a 13.04% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed an 11.9% share, a decrease of 6.25% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 11.11%, registering a 33.33% decline from October 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 9.52%, down 40% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 50% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s medical industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Arjo posted 16 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 45.45% over the previous month, followed by Danaher with 14 jobs and a 40% growth. DexCom with 9 IT jobs and Thermo Fisher Scientific with 8 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while System C Healthcare recorded an increase of 75% with 7 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.81%, down by 7% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.29% share, registered a decline of 5.26% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.9% share, flat growth over October 2021.
