The US’s medical industry registered a 1.8% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.06% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.7% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 0.2% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.46% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry in November 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60.59% in November 2021, registering a 15.63% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 11.98% share, a decrease of 10.23% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 9.29%, registering an 8.66% decline from October 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 7%, down 24.29% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4.04% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

Sonova posted 165 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a rise of 61.76% over the previous month, followed by Becton Dickinson and with 128 jobs and a 2.4% growth. Abbott Laboratories with 106 IT jobs and Medtronic with 99 jobs, recorded a 3.64% decline and a 20.8% decrease, respectively, while Thermo Fisher Scientific recorded a decline of 12.15% with 94 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.12%, down by 11.29% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.36% share, registered a decline of 17.12% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.03% share, down 20.87% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.48%, recording a month-on-month increase of 10%.
