Medical device contract manufacturer Biomerics has concluded a 24,000ft² expansion of manufacturing space at its Athens facility in Texas, US, to cater to growth in the single-use endoscopy market.
The investment comprises 8,500ft² of production space and the addition of a 4,900ft² engineering laboratory to the company’s Center of Excellence for Balloons And Balloon Catheters.
The laboratory is located next to a computer numerical control machining tool shop.
Biomerics interventional advanced catheter president Chris Richardson said: “This expansion reflects our 30-year pursuit of innovation and manufacturing excellence. I’m thrilled to see our vertical integration on full display in one building.
“Our Center of Excellence for Balloons And Balloon Catheters in Athens has a long history of producing class-leading interventional products for our customers. The expansion will fuel our growth with best-in-class speed-to-market capabilities.”
The expansion, which increases the footprint of the Athens campus to around 100,000ft², also provided exterior upgrades and created additional engineering and lab space, manufacturing space and an employee break room.
