BRIJ Medical has commercially launched BRIJ-SEAL, a wound sealant designed to quickly seal and protect surgical incisions after an operation.
The product adds to the company’s incision management portfolio and uses hypoallergenic adhesive technology.

BRIJ-SEAL creates a protective, flexible seal over the incision that lasts for up to 14 days. This duration matches the period during which it maintains a bacterial barrier.
The sealant is made using the same hypoallergenic adhesive found in Brijjit, with BRIJ Medical reporting no allergic reactions in six clinical trials involving the adhesive.
It does not contain glue or cyanoacrylates and is designed to be fast to apply, adding no extra steps for surgical personnel during closure.
The device is also described as breathable and waterproof, allowing moisture vapour to escape and enabling patients to shower when advised by their surgeon.
The sealant is intended to protect the incision while conforming to patient movement and providing immediate reinforcement.
BRIJ-SEAL can be used as a standalone incision sealant or alongside Brijjit, another BRIJ Medical device aimed at active tension offloading.

BRIJ Medical’s incision management options, including BRIJ-SEAL and Brijjit, are used by plastic and orthopaedic surgeons in the US and Canada.
