Healthcare clinic CityHealth Urgent Care in the US has launched a new in-home test kit for Covid-19 patients to conduct tests at home.

Each In-Home COVID-19 Test Kit comprises a how-to guide, a sterile swab, and a container with a unique tracking barcode, as well as a medical-grade envelope for shipping.

To ensure an adequate collection of samples, the kit also contains a virtual webcam visit with a live CityHealth clinician who will guide patients through the process of nasal swab collection.

The affordable remote Covid-19 testing kit also includes a prepaid expedited shipping label, which helps patients to mail the samples directly to the lab for processing.

CityHealth CEO Sean Parkin said: “Our goal is always to make excellent healthcare widely accessible, so it was important to us that this test be as affordable as possible while still offering fast accurate results.

“We’re grateful to our lab partners, Predicine Labs, for helping us develop this test and for consistently providing quick test turnaround times.”

CityHealth’s new test kit is the latest in a series of initiatives to improve and expand testing for the disease in the San Francisco Bay area.

Last month, CityHealth opened two new Covid-19 testing locations to serve the residents of the Tri-Valley and San Francisco Bay Area.
