Israel-based medical device company Lumenis has unveiled the UltraPulse DUO CO2 advanced laser platform for transoral laser microsurgery.
The new UltraPulse DUO is incorporated with the Digital AcuBlade scanning micromanipulator capabilities and high CO2 laser fiber energy within the same platform.
The surgeons can seamlessly alter between the two energy deliveries to gain an access to challenging and inaccessible anatomies while ensuring precision.
Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg Professor Marc Remacle said: "Providing precise, individualised patient care can be challenging for ENT surgeons because of the broad spectrum of surgical situations that can arise during the procedure.
"With the combined modality of the CO2 laser and the easy shift between free beam and fiber deliveries I can delicately address any clinical challenge while preserving healthy tissue, which is very important for the patient's recovery and comfort."
The combination of the two laser energy deliveries is enabled only on Lumenis' DUO platforms.
The UltraPulse DUO is outfitted with a range of features coupled with cost effective fibers that feature renewable tips, an aiming beam and high energy transmission.
Lumenis has also introduced an advanced communication channel, LINK which is a result of Lumenis' collaboration with the ENT community.
Lumenis CEO Tzipi Ozer-Armon said: "Lumenis' dedication to excellence is expressed not only through our continued development of advanced products and innovative technologies, but also in our strong partnerships with leading head and neck, ENT professionals and primary educational institutions to create advanced enlightening activities through innovative communication channels."
LINK serves as a common knowledge sharing base by the healthcare experts and offer opportunities for the CO2 laser specialists to learn.
