Israel-based medical device company Lumenis has unveiled the UltraPulse DUO CO2 advanced laser platform for transoral laser microsurgery.

The new UltraPulse DUO is incorporated with the Digital AcuBlade scanning micromanipulator capabilities and high CO2 laser fiber energy within the same platform.

The surgeons can seamlessly alter between the two energy deliveries to gain an access to challenging and inaccessible anatomies while ensuring precision.

Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg Professor Marc Remacle said: "Providing precise, individualised patient care can be challenging for ENT surgeons because of the broad spectrum of surgical situations that can arise during the procedure.

"With the combined modality of the CO2 laser and the easy shift between free beam and fiber deliveries I can delicately address any clinical challenge while preserving healthy tissue, which is very important for the patient’s recovery and comfort."

The combination of the two laser energy deliveries is enabled only on Lumenis’ DUO platforms.
