Pentax Medical, a division of Hoya Group, has unveiled a new multi-functional endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) device for complete ESD.
The multi-functional Splash M-Knife, which contributes to early treatment of gastric cancer, avoids the need to replace a knife.
The device achieves clear marking, better haemostasis and smoother and easier operation during a procedure.
Pentax Medical global product management vice-president Rami Liebenthal said: "We are launching Splash M-Knife, an innovative multi-functional ESD device to help spreading ESD globally, accelerating early treatment of gastric cancer.
"We are confident that the innovative device for precise, efficient and safer ESD sets a new standard for performing a complete ESD therapy."
A disk in the Splash M-Knife helps hooking up the tissue for improved safety in addition to making cutting convenient.
The water-jet function of the device enables additional injection without changing it. Invented in Japan a decade ago, ESD is known for its clinical and financial benefits.
Pentax Medical will demonstrate Splash M-Knife at the 89th Annual Meeting of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) Congress that will take place in Nagoya from 29-31 May.
With a global focus on R&D, regional sales and service, the company offers endoscopic imaging devices and solutions for the medical community.
