Samsung Electronics America has launched its high-resolution, full-featured, premium ultrasound system RS80A.

It is developed for radiology segment in the US market.

Using the company’s latest technology, the system provides better digital image processing and resolution to support accurate diagnosis.

The new system was developed to assist providers to improve workflows, as well as support enhanced healthcare delivery and outcomes.

Samsung RS80A can be used in various applications, including abdomen, vascular, cardiac, small organs, breast, urology, musculoskeletal, paediatric, foetal, obstetrics and gynaecology.

Samsung health and medical equipment (HME) unit group vice-president Doug Ryan said: "With the US launch of the premium Samsung RS80A, Samsung is excited to expand its portfolio of ultrasound imaging solutions to serve the radiology segment.

"The RS80A, with hybrid beamforming technology, is our next major entry into the premium ultrasound market, where image quality and workflow are essential for supporting an accurate and confident diagnosis."

The company’s technological innovation supports RS80A’s S-Vision architecture complemented by S-Vue transducer and ClearVision digital imaging processing.

"The new system was developed to assist providers in improving workflows, as well as support enhanced healthcare delivery and outcomes."

Consistent and high-resolution image quality is delivered by the ultrasound system, which features hybrid beamforming technology, SDMR and Single Crystal Probe technology.

The Samsung RS80A offers better performance through a comprehensive 3D technology suite that features Realistic Vue, which allows the user to select light source direction to display high-resolution 3D anatomy with exceptional detail and realistic depth perception.

The system was incorporated with a 23in HD LED display and a 13.3in tilting tablet touchscreen and a six-way motorised adjustable console.

Samsung RS80A also provides a comprehensive selection of 2D, 3D and 4D transducers and the reliability of a solid state drive.
