US-based firm Verathon has introduced a new high-resolution, portable and handheld video laryngoscope system, GlideScope Go.
The compact, durable and easy-to-use device is designed as an emergent and procedural airway management solution for both hospital and pre-hospital settings.
Compatible with GlideScope Spectrum single-use blades, the video laryngoscope comes with a 3.5in scratch-resistant colour display and anti-glare coating.
The system is suitable for different types of patients such as newborns or adults and features a wide field of view for enhanced visualisation and quick first-pass intubation.
Verathon Respiratory and Surgical Solutions business group vice-president and general manager Tim Shauf said: “GlideScope Go is an intuitive, handheld solution that adds versatility to clinical airway management.
“Combining GlideScope Go with our Spectrum blades delivers a high-resolution image powered by the latest advancements in lighting and camera technology, including dynamic light control and ambient light reduction.”
GlideScope Go allows consistent clear airway views in different settings, while the fully disposable Spectrum blades minimise cross-contamination and help to control the infection.
Verathon president Earl Thompson said: “GlideScope Go gives clinicians the confidence of GlideScope technology wherever and whenever they need it.
“GlideScope Go also complements GlideScope cart-based systems, so facilities can standardise their video laryngoscope training and efficiency.”
With subsidiaries in Canada, Europe, and Asia, Verathon develops medical devices with a primary focus on bladder volume measurement and airway management.
