US based artificial intelligence (AI) powered early identification and guidance platform, HealthBook+ has announced a partnership with Isabel Healthcare.

The HealthBook + platform collects information from electronic health records, health plan claims data, personal wearable health trackers, and other connected devices and uses predictive analytics and AI models to highlight health irregularities.

The collaboration will combine Isabel Health's advanced self-triage and DDX Companion offerings into the HealthBook+ platform allowing faster and more accurate diagnosing of potential conditions and will advise the best treatment for individuals and physicians. The partnership will also improve the platform’s Health Checker function by providing physicians with additional information.

Discussing the benefits of the integration of Isabel Healthcare Christopher Turner CEO at HealthBook+ said: “We share with Isabel the belief that AI and machine learning technology continuously trained on real-life diverse datasets, and then validated by independent studies, will truly deliver improved outcomes for those seeking better health.”

Users of the platform will receive a list of potential health risks from answering 11 questions and within a minute will be advised on the best course of action to take. According to the company, with Isabel Healthcare’s self-triage they have almost a 100% triage completion rate with around 57% scheduling appointments with physicians or their healthcare provider. Their DDX Companion, which has been trained on more than 22 years of evidenced-based knowledge provides a ranked order list of potential diagnoses in less than 90 seconds.

Isabel Healthcare CEO Don Bauman commented: “We are delighted that we can now reach a wider constituency with our solutions via this integration with the comprehensive HealthBook+ platform, that will improve outcomes and lower healthcare costs.”

According to a public poll in 2021 that assessed how the pandemic has changed physician-patient interaction, 41% of respondents said they would continue to visit a physician when needed, 24% said they would use a combination of in person and remote interactions, while 17% stated that they will interact via video call and 5% would do it through apps.
