Current Health has collaborated with Mayo Clinic in the US to develop remote monitoring solutions, which will quicken the detection of patients with Covid-19 and predict the severity of the disease. Current Health’s remote monitoring sensors and platform will collect digital biomarkers, which will be used by the experts from Mayo Clinic and Current Health to accelerate identification and assessment of the efficiency of the treatment. This is also expected to boost the care provided to confirmed patients and at-risk individuals.
Intense Engineering has introduced HSP-1000, a high-speed Covid-19 sample prep system that will increase the speed, safety and accuracy in sample tube testing for Covid-19. The HSP-1000 speeds up the testing as it is capable of testing 1,000 test sample tubes each hour. Lab operators are protected from the exposure as it is fully automated. Additionally, the robotic liquid handling systems offer sample transfer integrity.

Centene has partnered with Quest Diagnostics to increase availability of real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) Covid-19 testing in the critical areas of need in the US. Centene will enable the supply of 25,000 Quest Covid-19 test kits weekly to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in ten states or districts. The kits will be distributed from 4 May.
Hologic has planned to launch a new Aptima molecular assay which will detect Covid-19-causing SARS-CoV-2 virus. The assay will be operated on its Panther system. Hologic plans to distribute a Research Use Only (RUO) version of the test to CLIA-certified hospitals, public health and reference laboratories next week. Initially, the company expects to supply around three million RUO tests to its customers.
