GE Healthcare has introduced a new radiology ultrasound system, the LOGIQ E10, backed by artificial intelligence (AI) technology for quick data capture and reconstruction.

Based on the cSound Architecture platform, the digital system employs cloud connectivity and advanced algorithms to ensure 48 times of data throughput and ten times processing power compared to previous systems.

GE Healthcare General Imaging Ultrasound general manager Brian McEathron said: “Our engineers have come up with an entirely new way to create an image with image formation algorithms that are software-based and allow for further development in the future.

“From liver, OB / GYN and breast imaging to musculoskeletal and interventional radiology, ultrasound has the potential to dramatically improve patient care.

“We are confident that the LOGIQ E10 will lead that transformation, improving imaging for patients from head to toe – no matter their age or size.”

The new LOGIQ E10 system is accompanied by the new Photo Assistant App to allow imaging of relevant anatomy and send these pictures along with the clinical images to a radiologist for delivering information and documentation.

It additionally comes with the ‘remote clinical application’ designed to provide radiologists with means to change the ultrasound’s settings using a remote control on their tablet or smartphone.

GE is also providing a web-based secure portal to allow remote analysis or assistance for the system.

The cloud connectivity feature of the system called Tricefy from Trice Imaging facilitates the connection between clinicians, their colleagues and patients to share images, diagnostic information, remote viewing, archiving, and integration of electronic health records (EHR).
