Expressable has joined Amazon’s Health Benefits Connector, becoming the first speech therapy services provider to join the platform.

Acting as a bridge between customers and virtual-care providers, Amazon’s connector is part of the e-commerce giant’s broader healthcare ecosystem and is intended to help US customers discover and make use of health benefits that are potentially already available through their employer or insurer.

Expressable’s service pairs clients with licensed, insurance-covered speech therapists for one-on-one virtual sessions. The company’s care model also provides parents and caregivers with personalised home programmes and practice activities to support children between sessions.

Leanne Sherred, Expressable’s president and chief clinical officer, said: “A child’s early years are a critical window for communication development, and identifying and supporting a speech or language disorder early can make a meaningful difference in how a child learns, connects, and grows.

“By meeting customers where they already are, this collaboration will help more children start care early when it matters most and make it easier for adults to receive services they need.”

Research indicates that one in 14 US children has had a speech, language, or voice disorder in a given year, yet more than 40% of those children did not receive intervention services at the time. Left unaddressed, these challenges are associated with hindering a child’s ability to participate in everyday life, from classroom learning and peer relationships to emotional and behavioural development.

John Singerling, head of strategic growth and network development for Amazon Health Services, commented: “Effective speech and language skills are foundational to healthy childhood development.

“Our Health Benefits Connector is designed to help customers find and use quality health services that may be covered by their insurer, and we’re excited our customers can now access Expressable’s clinical expertise and innovative speech therapy platform.”

Expressable is the latest company to join Amazon’s connector platform, following other companies including sleep health specialist Dreem Health in April 2026, and others including online therapy provider Talkspace and joint and back pain care specialist Hinge Health.
