There has also been early signs of a shift towards measuring other markers such as ketones alongside glucose through continuous monitoring systems, with Abbott securing a CE mark and an approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Libre Duo 10 day dual glucose-ketone monitor back in May and August 2026, respectively. This device was the first glucose-ketone monitor to reach the diabetes market.
