Europe witnessed a 6.4% rise in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
June 2021 has seen an increase of 7.94% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 9.44% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering decrease of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 62.35% in June 2021, a 0.1% growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 10.26% in June 2021, marking a 2.48% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 8.5% in June 2021, a 12.16% drop from May 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 7.45% in June 2021, a 14% rise over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 2.6% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s medical industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Sonova posted 217 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 26.16% over the previous month, followed by Demant with 194 jobs and an 8.49% drop. Biotronik SEKG with 130 IT jobs and Getinge with 89 jobs, recorded an 8.45% decline and a 25.21% drop, respectively, while Danaher recorded a 4.6% decline with 83 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s medical industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 30.59% share in June 2021, a 4.49% decline over May 2021. Switzerland featured next with a 13.46% share, up 18.39% over the previous month. Poland recorded an 11.63% share, a drop of 3.26% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.95%, down by 3.05% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with an 11.37% share, a decline of 8.42% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.67% share, up 15.63% over May 2021.
