Between 31 January and 6 February 351 medtech companies posted 14,050 medtech jobs worldwide, according to the GlobalData jobs analytics tool. This represents an increase of almost 40% on the previous week, when 314 companies posted 10,100 jobs.
Thermo Fisher was no longer the biggest hirer, after two weeks on the top spot for jobs listed. The firm has been replaced by eye health products specialist Bausch & Lomb, which has an impressive 1,050 jobs listed.

Bausch’s listings were followed by Berlin-headquartered biomedical technology firm Biotronik, which posted 694 jobs, and hearing care company Sonova Holding, which posted 632.
Of the jobs posted this week, the majority remained at junior level, with 5,646 falling into this category. Entry-level positions accounted for 3,970 of the listings. Mid-level positions almost doubled this week compared to the week before, with 4,063 posted in this category compared to last week’s 2,667 mid-level jobs. A total of 371 senior positions were advertised.
Spotlight on Bausch & Lomb’s senior roles
The majority of Bausch & Lomb’s positions were mid-level, with 415 of the jobs posted falling into this category. A further 343 of the firm’s jobs were junior while 268 were entry-level, with only 24 senior jobs posted.
Of the senior positions posted, the majority were concentrated in Bridgewater, New Jersey, within the firm’s marketing and sales departments. The roles included four postings for executive marketing directors in ortho dermatologics, as well as four listings for vision care directors in customer marketing and e-commerce. Four listings were also posted for directors of Bausch & Lomb’s OraPharma sales strategy.
