This represents a substantial 27.5% increase in listings compared with last week’s 12,943 jobs advertised.

The majority of jobs were with Danaher Corp, which posted a whopping 2,633 roles. It was followed by Abbott Laboratories, which posted 1,427 jobs and Getinge AB, which posted 1,410.

Yesterday Danaher acquired Precision NanoSystems, a global leader in technologies and solutions for the development of genetic medicines, including mRNA vaccines and therapeutics. PNI will join Danaher’s Life Sciences platform and will be complementary to other businesses in the platform.

Healthcare roles most desirable to Irish students

Pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, including medtech, have experienced a rise in employer rankings among students following the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the IrishJobs.ie’s Most Attractive Employers Index Ireland 2021.

Jobs in the healthcare sector proved particularly popular among engineering students, with Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Boston Scientific all ranking within the top five in 2021.

Medtech company Stryker entered the engineering rankings for the first time this year in tenth position.
