US-based company Thermo Fisher Scientific’s IT hiring declined 32.5% in July 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 39.06% in July 2021 when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 9.76% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2021, and recorded a 0.72% growth over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Thermo Fisher Scientific, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 58% in July 2021, and a 54.33% drop over June 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 14% in July 2021, and registered a 39.13% decline. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11% in July 2021, a 42.11% drop from June 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Thermo Fisher Scientific

North America emerged as the leading region in the global medical IT hiring activity in July 2021 with a 40% share, which marked a 63.3% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 34%, registering a 42.37% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 24% share and a 38.46% drop over June 2021.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 2% and a month-on-month flat growth.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 33% share in July 2021, a 62.07% decline over June 2021. India featured next with a 20% share, down 45.95% over the previous month. China recorded a 9% share, decline of 30.77% compared with June 2021.

Junior Level jobs held a share of 69%, down by 47.33% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19% share, a decline of 63.46% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11% share, down 56% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
