The UK medical industry registered an 11.9% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.6% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.3% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK medical industry in July 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51.74% in July 2021, a 20.27% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 20.35% share, an increase of 45.83% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.63%, registering a 4.76% decline from June 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.4%, up 22.22% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the UK IT recruitment activity in July 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 60.78% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK medical industry during July 2021 over June 2021.

Danaher posted 25 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 38.89% over the previous month, followed by Sartorius with 22 jobs and a 214.29% growth. Medtronic with 14 IT jobs and Arjo with 11 jobs, recorded a 6.67% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Getinge recorded a 9.09% decline with 10 job postings during July 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 79.65%, up by 19.13% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with an 11.05% share, a decline of 24% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.72% share, up 114.29% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.58%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
