The UK medical industry registered a 13.0% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 12.93% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.21% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 0.08% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the UK medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.19% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK medical industry in June 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 48.39% in June 2021, a flat growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 16.13% share, an increase of 38.89% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.48%, registering a 60% rise from May 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 7.1%, up 10% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the UK IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 93.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK medical industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

Danaher posted 18 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 63.64% over the previous month, followed by Medtronic with 13 jobs and a 160% growth. Getinge with 11 IT jobs and Illumina with 10 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Waters recorded a 66.67% an increase with 10 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.06%, up by 13.08% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.13% share, a growth of 127.27% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.81% share, down 10% over May 2021.
