The US medical industry registered a 6.1% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 3.46% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.99% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 0.28% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 93.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US medical industry in June 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.75% in June 2021, a 12.49% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 9.95% share, an increase of 13.92% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 8.96%, registering a 6.99% rise from May 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 8.82%, down 9.26% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the US IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 28.74% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US medical industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

Becton Dickinson and posted 217 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 106.67% over the previous month, followed by Danaher with 123 jobs and a 15.17% drop. Bausch & Lomb with 110 IT jobs and Sonova with 99 jobs, recorded a 13.39% drop and a 32% increase, respectively, while Getinge recorded a 95.92% an increase with 96 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.78%, down by 6.71% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 27.95% share, a growth of 28.84% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.01% share, up 63.28% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.27%, recording a month-on-month decline of 14.29%.
