US-based company Abbott Laboratories IT hiring rose 7.2% in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 10.36% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 7.31% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2021, and recorded a 0.25% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Abbott Laboratories IT hiring in October 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Abbott Laboratories, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 67.96% in October 2021, and a 26.8% rise over September 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 7.73% in October 2021, and registered growth of 7.69%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 6.63% in October 2021, a 50% rise from September 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Abbott Laboratories

North America emerged as the leading region in the global medical IT hiring activity in October 2021 with a 63.54% share, which marked a 7.48% rise over the previous month.

Europe stood next with 19.34%, registering a 66.67% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 13.81% share and a flat growth over September 2021.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 2.76% and a month-on-month increase of 400%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.55%, registering a 50% drop over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 61.33% share in October 2021, a 3.74% growth over September 2021. Ireland featured next with a 7.73% share, up 100% over the previous month. India recorded a 5.52% share, an increase of 25% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Abbott Laboratories IT hiring activity in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.4%, up by 20.79% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.55% share, a decline of 2.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.05% share, up 42.86% over September 2021.
