Asia-Pacific witnessed a 10.4% drop in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
October 2022 has seen a decrease of 11.02% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for an 11.81% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 1.29% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 51.06% in October 2022, a 41.35% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 18.82% in October 2022, marking a 48.15% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 13.88% in October 2022, a 28.26% rise from September 2022.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 8% in October 2022, a 17.07% decline over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 6.25% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s medical industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Carl Zeiss posted 60 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 25.93% over the previous month, followed by Danaher with 42 jobs and a flat growth. Alcon with 38 IT jobs and GE Healthcare with 36 jobs, recorded a 123.53% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Koninklijke Philips recorded a 29.17% decline with 34 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s medical industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 64.94% share in October 2022, a 24.59% decrease over September 2022. China featured next with a 10.12% share, down 25.86% over the previous month. Malaysia recorded a 6.12% share, a growth of 160% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.06%, down by 20.83% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.06% share, registered a decline of 26.87% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.18% share, down 40.91% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.71%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
