Asia-Pacific’s medical industry IT hiring activity rises 2.7% in November 2021

Asia-Pacific witnessed a 2.7% rise in IT hiring activity in the medical industry in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

November 2021 has seen an increase of 9.02% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 14.7% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering a decrease of 1.25% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 70.26% in November 2021, a 13.17% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 9.29% in November 2021, marking a 44.23% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 7.56% in November 2021, a 103.33% rise from October 2021.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations registered a share of 6.94% in November 2021, a 27.27% rise over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 43.43% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s medical industry during November 2021 over previous month.

Danaher posted 127 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered an increase of 144.23% over the previous month, followed by GE Healthcare with 107 jobs and a 20.22% growth. Thermo Fisher Scientific with 81 IT jobs and Demant with 63 jobs, recorded a 72.34% rise and a 36.96% rise, respectively, while Medtronic recorded a 23.81% decline with 48 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s medical industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 65.92% share in November 2021, a 31.03% increase over October 2021. China featured next with a 12.02% share, down 6.73% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 6.44% share, a growth of 92.59% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.1%, up by 19.16% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 31.23% share, registered a growth of 38.46% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.55% share, up 4.55% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.12%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
