Australia’s medical industry registered a 4.7% rise in IT hiring activity in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.27% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.99% share in April 2022, recording an increase of 0.39% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Australia’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry in April 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 37.78% in April 2022, registering a 15% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 35.56% share, an increase of 166.67% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 17.78%, registering a 33.33% rise from March 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 6.67%, down 25% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s medical industry during April 2022 over March 2022.

ResMed posted 6 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a drop of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by ArjoHuntleigh with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Arjo with 6 IT jobs and Cochlear with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 66.67% decrease, respectively, while AlayaCare recorded a decline of 25% with 3 job postings during April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.22%, up by 19.35% from March 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.33% share, registered an increase of 200% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 4.44% share, down 75% over March 2022.
