Canada’s medical industry registered a 13.4% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.44% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.83% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.99% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry in August 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 67.86% in August 2022, registering a 20.83% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 14.29% share, a flat growth over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 10.71%, registering a 200% rise from July 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.14%, down 50% over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Thermo Fisher Scientific posted 4 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 100% over the previous month, followed by AlayaCare with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Arterys with 2 IT jobs and Agilent Technologies with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 66.67% decrease, respectively, while em-tec recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 50%, down by 26.32% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 35.71% share, registered a decline of 16.67% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.29% share, down 33.33% over July 2022.
