Canada’s medical industry registered a 6.0% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 7.93% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.88% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 0.32% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Canada’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 67.19% in July 2022, registering a 7.5% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 10.94% share, a decrease of 22.22% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 9.38%, registering a 53.85% decline from June 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 6.25%, down 50% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 15.38% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s medical industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Sonova posted 27 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 12.5% over the previous month, followed by Agilent Technologies with 6 jobs and a 500% growth. Danaher with 6 IT jobs and AlayaCare with 4 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 33.33% growth, respectively, while Thermo Fisher Scientific recorded a decline of 77.78% with 2 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 50%, down by 40.74% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 31.25% share, registered an increase of 100% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 18.75% share, up 33.33% over June 2022.
