Ireland-based company Medtronic’s IT hiring declined 10.5% in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 8.98% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 12.61% share in the company’s total hiring activity in December 2021, and recorded a flat a decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Medtronic IT hiring in December 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Medtronic, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 58.94% in December 2021, and a 16.82% drop over November 2021, while Computer and Information Analysts claimed a share of 17.88% in December 2021, and registered a decline of 32.5%. Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 10.6% in December 2021, a 33.33% rise from November 2021.

North America drives IT hiring at Medtronic

North America emerged as the leading region in the global medical IT hiring activity in December 2021 with a 53.64% share, which marked a 20.59% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 23.18%, registering a 27.08% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 13.91% share and a 19.23% drop over November 2021.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 7.95% and a month-on-month increase of 50%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.32%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 53.64% share in December 2021, an 18.18% decline over November 2021. India featured next with a 21.85% share, down 10.81% over the previous month. Israel recorded a 7.95% share, an increase of 71.43% compared with November 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Medtronic IT hiring activity in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 45.7%, down by 22.47% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 33.77% share, a growth of 6.25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 20.53% share, down 36.73% over November 2021.
