December 2021 has seen a decrease of 7.9% in the overall hiring activity when compared with November 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 14.79% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in December 2021, registering an increase of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in December 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 69.44% in December 2021, a 38.89% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Research Scientists came in next, claiming a share of 11.11% in December 2021, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 8.33% in December 2021, a flat growth from November 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 4.55% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s medical industry during December 2021 over previous month.

Medtronic posted 12 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 50% over the previous month, followed by GE Healthcare with 5 jobs and a 150% growth. Danaher with 2 IT jobs and Vayyar Imaging with 2 jobs, recorded a 60% drop and a 50% drop, respectively, while Healthy io recorded a 33.33% decline with 2 job postings during December 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s medical industry

Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 72.22% share in December 2021, a 44.44% increase over November 2021. South Africa featured next with an 11.11% share, up 300% over the previous month. United Arab Emirates recorded a 5.56% share, a flat growth compared with November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.89%, up by 4.55% from November 2021. Entry Level positions with a 19.44% share, registered a growth of 133.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 16.67% share, up 100% over November 2021.
