August 2022 has seen a decrease of 3.86% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 7.18% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering a decrease of 0.6% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 49.65% in August 2022, a 14.93% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 13.9% in August 2022, marking a 4.29% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 13.14% in August 2022, a 1.04% drop from July 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 12.86% in August 2022, a 13.41% rise over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 6.7% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s medical industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Thermo Fisher Scientific posted 119 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a decline of 9.16% over the previous month, followed by Medtronic with 86 jobs and a 46.58% drop. Danaher with 79 IT jobs and Laboratoryof America Holdings with 57 jobs, recorded an 83.72% rise and a 29.63% drop, respectively, while AngioDynamics recorded a 2350% increase with 49 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s medical industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 97.16% share in August 2022, a 9.18% decrease over July 2022. Canada featured next with a 1.87% share, down 25% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.97% share, a drop of 51.72% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.81%, down by 12.28% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24% share, registered a decline of 13.68% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 18.19% share, up 2.73% over July 2022.
