Singapore’s medical industry registered an 11.8% drop in IT hiring activity in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 16.62% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.7% share in April 2022, recording an increase of 0.83% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Singapore’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s medical industry in April 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 65.71% in April 2022, registering a 14.81% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 20% share, a decrease of 12.5% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 8.57%, registering a 40% decline from March 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.71%, down 66.67% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in Singapore’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 7.41% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s medical industry during April 2022 over March 2022.

Sartorius posted 11 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a rise of 83.33% over the previous month, followed by Illumina with 5 jobs and a 16.67% drop. Agilent Technologies with 4 IT jobs and Danaher with 3 jobs, recorded a 20% decline and a 70% decrease, respectively, while Alcon recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.43%, down by 13.79% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.14% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.43% share, down 76.47% over March 2022.
