Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 50% in December 2021, an 18.18% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 19.23% in December 2021, marking a 150% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 15.38% in December 2021, a 300% rise from November 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 225% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s medical industry during December 2021 over previous month.

Boston Scientific posted 3 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 200% over the previous month, followed by MV Informatica Nordeste with 3 jobs and a flat growth. Terumo with 3 IT jobs and Envista with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Danaher recorded a 100% increase with 2 job postings during December 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s medical industry

Costa Rica commanded a leading presence in the region’s medical industry IT hiring activity with a 38.46% share in December 2021, a 25% increase over November 2021. Brazil featured next with a 30.77% share, up 60% over the previous month. Colombia recorded a 15.38% share, a growth of 33.33% compared with November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.54%, down by 15.79% from November 2021. Entry Level positions with a 34.62% share, registered a growth of 350% compared with the previous month.
