The US’s medical industry registered an 8.4% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.72% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.65% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.76% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.27% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry in September 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 49.37% in September 2022, registering a 4.23% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 13.17% share, a decrease of 7.88% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.96%, registering a 14.81% decline from August 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 12.18%, down 8.95% over the previous month.

Top five medical companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 1.85% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s medical industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Thermo Fisher Scientific posted 136 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 10.57% over the previous month, followed by Laboratoryof America Holdings with 75 jobs and a 31.58% growth. Medtronic with 67 IT jobs and Cordis with 56 jobs, recorded a 24.72% decline and a 75% growth, respectively, while Danaher recorded a decline of 33.77% with 51 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.06%, down by 7.44% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.01% share, registered a decline of 6.58% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 19.51% share, up 3.75% over August 2022.
